Ingredients
1 Tomato
2 tsps of Rasam powder
1/4 tsp of Asafoetida
Tamarind of a size of a marble or 1 tsp of tamarind paste
1/2 cup of Tur Dal
Handful of coriander leaves to sprinkle on top
Seasoning
1 tsp Ghee or unsweetened butter
1/2 tsp mustard
4-5 curry leaves
How to prepare?
Add chopped tomato, Asafoetida, Tamarind pulp (or paste), salt and boil till it gets slightly concentrated. Then add cooked tur dal and 2 to 3 cups of water and boil. Sprinkle coriander on top. For seasoning, heat ghee and put mustard till it splitters, put off the gas and add curry leaves and pour the seasoning in the rasam.
